“Seeing our clients, staff and local community succeed is the most fulfilling part of my career. It feels good knowing we make a positive impact on people’s lives in addition to their bottom line.”

As a principal at Bauman Associates, Brian Schilling coordinates and oversees multiple engagements for businesses, non-profits, government agencies, cooperatives, school districts and more. One of the firm’s audit specialists and a trusted business consultant, he also concentrates on financial, tax and advisory services for businesses and individuals.

In addition, Brian has a wealth of experience in business succession, retirement and estate planning. As a parent himself, Brian understands how important it is for his clients with children to have sound education and estate plans that fully respects their unique goals, so he works hard to address their concerns.

Growing up, Brian watched his parents operate their own business and saw the many challenges they faced. He knew someday he wanted to have a career that would help people avoid some of those frustrations. His background, his natural love of working with numbers and his desire to help people overcome their financial challenges drove him to become well-versed in the complexities and implications involved with family-run and closely-held businesses. He takes care of his clients the way he would take care of his own parents and their business.

By tailoring each client’s service experience, Brian helps his clients reach their individual goals. He spends time understanding what is important to them personally and professionally, so he can guide them to their own personal definition of success. This commitment to the full client relationship is why many clients come back year after year.

Brian grew up in Eau Claire and still lives here with his wife. They have two children, by far their proudest accomplishments in life. In his leisure time, he likes to fish and read David Baldacci novels.

Brian used to love riding his motorcycle until 2006, when he and his wife celebrated their 30th anniversary by crashing into a black bear going 70 mph (Brian, not the bear) and lived to tell about it.
